Govee DreamView G1 Pro Gaming Lights
Gamers have taken RGB LEDs to the extreme limits when building their rigs: cooling fans, cases, keyboards, the mouse, monitors, headphones, even RAM cards…and more can glow multiple colors. This is the polar opposite of corporate IT banality.
You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars building a custom computer or buying a $16,000 “gaming chair” to dramatically enhance your gaming experience. I have a cost-conscious RGB gaming mouse and keyboard that adds flair to my set-up. Under my desk is a multi-color LED strip that I can control with a remote. The entire perimeter of the ceiling in my gaming room has been given the same LED treatment.
Nothing has made me so happy or had as dramatic an impact on my gaming experience as my new Govee DreamView G1 Pro LED lighting kit. Tthis system is RGBIC, so you can essentially control the color of each LED independently, providing a nearly infinite amount of options in setting a scene to match your exact mood. Because it is also a smart product, you can control it with the app or a smart home device like Google Home or Amazon Alexa.
Getting the hardware setup takes about 15 minutes and requires calibrating your screen. The app helps setup and quickly allows you to change a host of parameters: colors, brightness, speed of color change, and more. There are dozens of static and dynamic presets to choose from or you can design your own. Personally, I like the mode that syncs to my game sound. Every hit, shot and sound effect is projected as color on the wall behind my desk. (I recommend the lightest color paint possible to fully appreciate the range ofp colors and brightness.)
The kit contains 4 main pieces: 2 vertical color bars, a “neon” strip, and a camera. The most amazing aspect of the system is that the camera can read color location on your screen and tell the three LED components to light the wall up to match. For instance, if you have something red on the left side of the screen and something blue on the right side of the screen in the top explodes yellow then you’re wall will look the same. This is the exact reason that calibration is so critical but it is also the reason the system is so spectacular.
My suggestion is that this would be your first enhancement to your computer set up or if you’re not a gamer, they have a television version for your room. The end result is a gorgeous LED show that enhances the action on the screen.
