The iRobot Roomba i7 was easily my best purchase last year. It helped save me so much time cleaning so I had more time for family & hobbies. I HIGHLY recommend this product to those with pets, those with dust allergies, or neat freaks. It will keep your floors swept with minimal to no intervention. Combined with the iRobot Braava M6, you can get a total floor solution with both a vacuum & a mop.

The iRobot app helps to set up and program your devices, share maps & allow an automated cleaning schedule. After mapping your house, you can divide into rooms and identify high traffic and no clean zones to optimize results. For instance, you can keep it from going over the cords under your desk or near the dog’s water bowl.

Since it is connected to my smart house, all I have to do is say “Alexa, vacuum, the living room” or “mop the kitchen” and the appropriate device will do the job. If there is popcorn in front of the couch, then I can tell it to “vacuum the couch,” and it will only do that area, very quickly.

You can program a daily/weekly routine to keep your floor in tiptop shape. Just be sure to pick up clutter so it can clean the most areas.

For those looking for a combo mop/vacuum, you can check out this one by Rubot. It performs well, needing just a little more effort than the iRobot models. I like the PJrobot app a little better as I can actually watch the robot as it goes around the room in little rows, constantly updating the map as it goes. The brush needs more maintenance from long hair but it’s easy to do.

Starting out can be a little challenging but you quickly adapt & begin to wonder how you ever lived without them. Invest in these and you can invest more time in your family & hobbies.
